I left my laptop power cable on the floor at a friend’s place. Cue one dead laptop, horrible phone internet access and therefore no blogging. Also NO KNITTING! I have sewn up part of the Fire and Brimstone – no enthusiasm for that as it makes my head explode atm. The pattern for at Kataranarina is a pdf.. which I don’t have printed out… no laptop=no pattern=no knitting. “Quelle Horreur!”
I have had some knitting withdrawal so last night I grabbed some Noro Blossom I had in my stash and started a long skinny garter stitch scarf. This will be a present for someone, but can only be collected. Hmmm, who have I been trying to entice into my parlour? *knits a new web*
I’d frogged the cast on front of the Fire & Brimstone. I vaguely remember ballsing it up. Hey ho it’s only knitting, and I like knitting. I’ve got about 4ins of the chevron done only another 4 and a half to go. I also did manage to do a little bit round the house as well 4 loads of laundry, some dishes and I cooked (mmm meatballs).
Tomorrow will be a minimal knitting day, shopping, more housework and guests, but I hope to get a few rows in.
The furniture is all in place, Ed helped me reposition it yesterday. We also went to B&Q where I purchased a new loo seat of much bamboo loveliness. I’m not putting it on the loo until after the ceiling gets painted this week though, as i would cry if it got paint on it. I also have a new bathmat :). On Thursday Malcolm popped up to gaze upon the wonder that is my new bed, and to use his l33t tall person skills to put up my new lampshades.
All that remains to be done is getting rid of a ton of rubbish and sorting through the remaining few boxes to see if I want to keep or get rid of stuff. There is a load of clean laundry too, but I want a new ironing board cover before I tackle that – the old one is ingrained with soot and icky fire smells.
Soon there can be feeet up and knitting.
Praise be to the Yarn Gods! For they sent my parcel astray and it ended up where and when it was most useful.
I arrived at the flat today to find the Dazzle I’d ordered from Ecoknits… I had actually asked Kriss to send it to mum’s but she’d missed the instruction, and to be honest I think it was for the best (esp since it fitted through the letterbox so I didn’t need to go and collect it). I have now cast on the berry hat (Raspberry Baby Beret) and I feel much better about life now I have yummy yarn to play with.
I have run out of meaningful knitting!!!!
The Smoke Alarm cardi is stalled until I can get it home to block it. I have some laceweight yarn, and a shawl pattern here but the yarn isn’t balled and there is no way I am doing it by hand (winder is packed away from the cleaners then the painters) I have 4 small balls of Arni – the natural brown – but no pattern/spare needles for it here. I also have that sock – the one I am not liking knitting, so it doesn’t count. I don’t expect the Dazzle to get here this soon so no hat & bootees.
Tomorrow I’ll be back at my flat but all my knitting books/patterns are packed up too :S I may have to go and buy yarn for something to knit, and a pattern and possibly needles too :S.
I need you all to send me enough good knitting thoughts to get me through these few dark hours until I can get to a knitting dealer and get a fix.. I swear I can feel the knitting withdrawal just moments away….
