I like posting pictures. I think having a picture of something pretty (or tasty) in a post makes it more interesting, you can see exactly what I’ve done, or am doing. How far I’ve got on the project, the colour.. the yumminess. Lace, though, mostly just looks rubbish, someone else once said “lace just looks like a pile of sick before it’s blocked” and I agree wholeheartedly.
The above is some lovely lace, even if I say so myself, but all you can see is some kind of lumpy knitting. Hence there will be no photos of Hemlock until it’s finished, and blocked (well, maybe whilst blocking, but you get my drift).
Small amounts of knitting have been done. Yesterday I helped GoD lady sort out some issues with knitting on prescription drugs. I also fixed a dropped stitch in my Hemlock.
Seriously, dropping a stitch? I really rarely do this. Recently though I have had a rash of them. Remember my sister’s birthday present? Now the Hemlock, and I picked up my 3in1 today and what did I see? Yup yet another dropped stitch. Admittedly the Amitriptyline makes me a little foggy at times, and the pain/pins and needle/numb feeling in my hands means I’m not as dexterous. Today I feel like I have big fat sausage fingers, I keep missing keys on the keyboard, because my fingers aren’t exactly where I think they are.
Ho hum, onwards and upwards…
So, I’ve just started taking amitriptyline for pain. The side effects will improve as I keep taking it, but yesterday, after taking it for the first time the night before, was challenging. So spaced early in the day, then so tired later. I tried knitting, it took a huge amount of concentration, and it felt oddly alien. Which was a bit weird.
Today I woke up feeling a bit dizzy, and oddly numb round the edges. Thankfully, there’s not much needs doing. I did manage to fix the knitting I attempted yesterday, but it was a total brain strain, so maybe I should leave the knitting for a bit.
Distracted by thoughts of my new fridge freezer, I’m also distracted by defrosting the old one, and making an online grocery order to fill said new appliance….
Me? Losing focus? Nah….
Oh look, flying monkies…
Today I have managed to muster a little mojo, and we have my version of Multnomah. The plain knit section is finished and I am about to start the feather and fan border.
The yarn is some Posh Elinor (colour Glenlogie) which was a gift from the GoD Lady.
Not in general, just with this stupid infection. Two flipping weeks on and off, it seems to be gone and then wham. Hoping this second course of antibiotics will kill it dead. The Out of Hours doctor was great, no nonsense and to the point, the hour wait wasn’t so brilliant, but needs must. Thankfully the chemist was open at Ocean Terminal.
One thing about mostly being tethered to the flat, is that you have a fair amount of knitting time. I have knit one shawl this week, and started another. I haven’t Ravelry’d them yet so no links and no also no pictures taken. The 3 in 1 is on a break. We haven’t fallen out I’m just a bit tired of constant knit stitch (I totally don’t have spring startitis and if I do, I’m sure these antibiotics will cure it soon…).
When you don’t pay attention the frogs invade….
Forgot waist decreases, reknitting the start of section three, in the 3 in 1…… It was only 30 odd short rows.
I am totally rubbish at this keeping up to date malarkey.
It’s like thinking about blogging is the same as doing it. If I could blog with my mind, your feeds would be overloaded with posts.
I frogged Daisy. I was not feeling the love. And so I decided to knit this instead. I stole a ball of yarn out of the hexapuff stash to make up the colours, and have so far knitted….
I am totally feeling the love for this.
I bought a cooker on Tuesday. A lot of my time yesterday was spent stressing over tiles. Turns out I need an extra course of tile behind and above the stove top (it needs to be 750mm and I only have 500mm). The cooker arrives on the 9th, the tiles need to be up or they won’t install it. cue me stressing. Yesterday I bought the tile, grout and some tools, but the tile cutter is rubbish. It doesn’t score the tile well, although I suspect if the tile was shorter it might work. I (or rather GoD lady with her Amazon Prime magic) have ordered a better cutter, which will be here tomorrow. I only need to cut ONE tile and it is causing me fits. Actually, I will cut 2 and add 2 courses, as future proofing against the legislation changing again.
I have never tiled, so this will be an adventure.
Once I get over the stress of the cooker, I will buy the new fridge freezer.
